About Walden

The Chedsey Motel is a historical point of interest in Jackson County.  The original motel was built in 1950 and has only had three owners since construction.  It has been well maintained and cared for meticulously for over 75 years.

Walden is perfectly located in the center of Jackson County.  Walden is a great base station for all your outdoor adventures.  We have a variety of restaurants, offering pizza, burgers,  BBQ, steak house and home cooked café quality meals.  We also have a historical bar, 2 liquor stores and 2 gas stations within the city limits.  Shopping amenities include several auto parts stores, a hardware store, general merchandise dollar store, a local butcher shop and meat processing facility as well as a full service grocery store.  We have a beautiful indoor pool complete with exercise equipment, the greatest Pioneer Museum in the state and a historical courthouse that is a must see  For a complete listing of all  businesses in the Walden area go  to WaldenColorado.com

North Park- includes the entire Jackson County region

As a region, our area is referred to as North Park.  There are many unincorporated communities in North Park including Cowdrey, Rand, Pearl and Gould.  This area is known as an outdoor playground to recreation enthusiasts.  We are home to gold medal water fishing opportunities, incredible North Sand Hill Dunes, an enormous wildlife population at the Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge and great outdoor fun at the Colorado State Forest State Parks to just name a few.  Recreation opportunities can be found in more detail, including links on WaldenColorado.com
